I had thought about going down towards the dam, but decided to stick to the honey holes I already know about. Fished the RR side, mid lake. Some fish where busting banks, but not in big numbers. I landed one and Rob trout set on another, the hook didn't take. Fish seemed most active between 12 and 2. Fly fishing for stripers is pretty fun, and 100 times more satisfying than soaking shad. (At least when you finally get bit) You should try it.

Yel man I was wondering about the Night Bite !! Hooked On them Busting !! Rush for sure !! Buddy of Mine Larry took me a few years back & Being Possest ever since !! Hes cost me a fourtuine !! Love It !! This is my first year fly fishing for them. It's been tough, plenty of fishing without a lot of catching. I'll take all advice I can get, if you have any?

I know a guy that flyfishes the Roanoke river (coastal run) in daytime, they use sinking line and big clouser flys.dealing with current there don't see why if you get over a school here it wouldn't work. This is no help at night, but thought I'd throw it out there ,they do well there.

I'm gonna try that this weekend some if I come across a school. Plan on fishing all weekend. I can get down to 50 feet with my heavy sinking line.
