Went out in search of crappies and found them. Got somewhere around 40-50 with 20 keepers over 9". 2 at 15" and a few in the 12's. Got 2 11.5" yellow perch as well.
Found them on deep main channel docks with 12-20 feet of water under them. Shootin em. Way up under.. 1/32oz jigs and yellow bgbs.

Fantastic report. I was all set on bragging about my good friend Jacks crappie. Your catch is amazing. Tells me that I was fishing in water that was/is to shallow. My friends crappie was 15", 1.95lb. Only thing that we caught.

I tried shallow for the first hour, around cover, beaver huts and flatlining shallow backs of creeks. No bites, so I figured they had to be deep. They were also on brush in 15-20 feet of water, but there isn't a ton of that around and I didn't want to waste time searching it out. I found a few on accident though that I marked, and they were loaded with verified crappies.

Yeah I've never had much luck finding any brush in deeper water to catch crappie. I've often thought of building some but not sure of the rules on sml about building fish structure

I've caught a few of them in my castnet! They are still in the lake too. Just not in the original location.
