Ever had one of those day's where every thing went right? Well Saturday was one of those days for me. High school buddy came up for a fishing/hunting weekend. We fished with HokieChad on Friday afternoon and fought the wind but did put one fish in the boat. Then came Saturday - My son joined us to fish the upper Roanoke in the morning and done well with 8 fish mostly on free line planers with moneymaker gizzards. Saw about 30 turkey fly across the channel at the boat & had a doe swim across the channel near the boat. Came back closer to home to replenish the bait supply and picked up 2 more larger fish, same set up, so total of 10 fish, biggest 14#, 31", all released. Then we decided to hit the woods for opening day of muzzleloader. Got on the stands about 5pm & saw 3 bucks in the next hour. My buddy harvested the biggest one. It was a great day and one we will remember for a long time. God sure smiled on us! Franklin Co style surf & turf! Here's a couple of pics.
