Set out around 8:00am, was expecting massive boat traffic due to the tournament. Ramp was not crowded at all. Asked the sheriff at ramp if he wanted to come along, he said that he had to work.
Went to the dock on right at mouth of the ramp cove. Had a couple taps. Started doubting my fish of choice when the "flips", of what I can only think are shad, made me want to get the cast net and boards out.
Headed to the big trussle. Marked the tree and proceeded to pull the chartreuse mister twisters across them. Caught a small one. Went to the base of the trussle and promptly caught three 12"ers. Several small ones later, decided to call my friend Jack. Not one bite after that phone call. Called the friend back and canceled the get together. Bumped into a man in a pontoon from Bay Roc that was using minnows. He could not catch any either.
Went down past Mormans to a couple known trees. No luck. Went into a cove that had LMB written all over it. Threw spinner baits, jigs and lizards. No luck. Saw bait scatter on more than one occasion in the cove. Threw bucktails and swimbaits. Finally noticed a small LMB giving the bait a hard time.
Headed back to the ramp.
My apologies to the boat pulling boards in the corner at trussle. Did not mean to give you a scare on your outermost board. In my defense, I was looking and was trying to split the distance between you and the boat on the opposite bank. I saw the three bankside boards, I powered back when I saw the outer boards, the third outer was out past the center of the channel. Didn't want you to think that I was a complete a$$.
Any way, y'all peace out...

Crappies seem to have changed patterns a bit I had a tough time with keepers too today, but plenty of little ones. Not much else eating.

Fished the Blackwater side on Sat. The slabs have disappeared, but caught over 80 fish in the 9 - 10 inch range and several over 10". I'm assuming the females have dropped their eggs and moved off into deeper water. Looks like the males are doing their job now protecting the nests. It was non-stop action. A fish almost every cast once I found them. Jigs out-fished minnows 5 to 1. Had the live well full with a limit, but decided cleaning fish was not exactly what I wanted to do. Let'm all go.
