Put in at the public landing and the bait was not 30' behind the boat. One throw of the net and it took 2 to pull the net back in the boat. Kept about 15(due to not having much time) and threw a whole load back. When we threw them back, it started a frenzy. We only caught several small ones during that frenzy, but it was cool to watch. Ended up catching those 2, a smallie, and a channel on shad. Smallie eat a shad that was about half his size. My oldest son was bass fishing the whole time, throwing an A-rig. He caught a real nice 28" striper on that. The thing was like a butter ball. Made me happy to see that Claytor has some fish that are real healty. I didn't start the engine except to back off, and put on the trailer. Just an FYI, for anyone thinking of fishing Claytor, AEP is dropping the lake 3' tomorrow.
