4/16 - great day, no fish to speak of

An old friend came down and fished with me today. We bass fished in the morning, caught nothing of size worth talking about. After breaking for a late lunch back at the house we rode up to Beaver with a few ales in the tank. Ran a couple planers, and one float line off the back of the bass boat (which isn't great for fishing planer boards, but we made do). Had a couple late evening board blow ups, one which seemed to swallow a nine inch ale and the board completely underwater and still managed to get off (I probabllay used the wrong type of hook, ya'll know that I'm not a live bait angler). Then at dusk got caught up in short top water frenzy, but couldn't get any takers on a monkey/fluke combo.

So we packed it in and headed down lake to the house. Pretty skunky, but i will take a day on the lake with an old friend no matter -
