Hello, I’m not a pro level fisher, and I’m not so much rich. I don’t tell you that it’s not a good reel, but its price is so high that everyone can’t purchase it. If you want to catch monster fish and have enough money than it's a good decision to have it.

I heard a rumor that DGIF might ban this reel for summer striper fishing on SML, in order to mitigate against the risks of excessive CNR of monster fish (by anglers using the Tranx) during the high-mortality summer months -- and, also, that if anglers don't abide by the ban, then DGIF will consider imposing a three-year moratorium on possession of any stripers (in order to cultivate and protect monster fish). I've only fished once with this reel, but didn't have any luck, owing to getting hung up in several black plastic fish sanctuary thingies poking out of the water in several spots along Blackwater (if ONLY they were marked with GPS coordinates!) -- however, I took solace in the fact that the conditions weren't nearly as bad as those reported around BayRock.
