Used the planer floats this past week in fact.... my honest feedback..... they are not a replacement for "planer boards" - don't expect them to pull way out to the side. What they will do is pull maybe 5-10' (maybe a little more depending on speed and what you're pulling behind them) - the intention is to let you get a few more baits out in your transom spread - whereas before you may have run 1 or 2 floats, you can get 3 or 4 out behind the boat - and then have your regular planers out to the sides. As to the "Stealth Planers" - I've not used them, but RediRig donated a few sets along with a bunch of floats which we've given out at the Striper Mafia events. I think KB or one of his fishing buddies has a set and have been using them and he can comment. I have a hard time getting past the fact that they look like a bird

I've used them a lot over the last 6-8 months and mward nailed it. They do not replace planers but will move out away a little bit and coupled with a regular float let you put 3 lines out way back behind the boat and keep them un-tangled. Note, these are also only useful with baits up to about 6 inches.....much larger than that and the bait will pull the float around a bit and can cause some tangles. You can actually barely make out the green planer float in this pic....thats a bit closer and planed out a bit more than usual actually.

Mward hit it by saying they look like a bird. We have 3 sets. They catch more leaves then rednecks but they do work. They are very visible, even in bad wind. The clips on them i would like to change to a heavier one just my personal opinion. As far as the planer floats i love them bc just as mward said you can run a left and a right one and also have plenty of room for 2 floats straight out back. I agree with mward on how they only run 5-10 feet wider then floats.

For what it's worth, I use the planer floats from a kayak and they work great for that application

Can you get planer floats at captains quarters?
