I have a 40 Mercury 4 stroke. It has 3 carbs on it. I have a problem with the 3rd with is the bottom carb. I put kits in all of them 2 years ago but after the boat sets awhile the carbs gum up. I've tried c-foam and some other store bought thing but no luck. I had a older gentleman tell me to add about a shot glass of rubbing alcohol to my gas and that would clear it up. Has anyone ever heard/done this? Any info would help. Thanks

About the same effect as stabil. You might have a problem in that you add seafoam to the tank but do you run the;engine enough to get it into the carb bowls etc? That will cause your issue.

You might try a seafoam shock treatment. Check it out on the google.
