Report as promised.
Heard the striper were hitting top water at Bay Rock between the hours of 10pm to 2am. Put in at dusk planning artificial only.
Started throwing bucktail and swim baits. No takers. Darkness set in and wind was constant. Not to bad though. Heard something working top. Some at one shore, some at the other shore, some in the middle.
Started in with ThunderSticks and Redfin. Threw and drew at banks, from bank out, from deep in, from shallow out, along drops and cliffs. No takers.
Could never tell what was breaking the surface. Some broke close enough at boat to startle a person. Some sounded small, some very large. Graph showed some individual fish, showed small groups of bait. Bait didn't seem to have any size.
Had a bow hunting boat push through. Figured that it was time to go. It was midnight.
Water temp was a constant 60°. Water stained.
Peace out....

Thanks for the report. The super night bite is coming. Used to do that a lot until the old body decided it needed more sleep. LOL

Last week we heard a lot of surface action up river from Hardy bridge but it turned out to be carp gulping bugs or something. I had one roll within a foot of my kayak and got a good look, not to mention a good startle.

I was thinking that it might be carp. Thank you for relaying that info.
