over cast wt 60 deg variable wind I started off the day catching a Large Mouth in my cast net while trying to get bait, then managed to get some peanuts and 3 money makers. I ran to one of my favorite spots and set out two boards on the bank side, and one on the channel side. 5 min into the pull the inside bait got nailed. A nice fat 31 inch striper. Thing died down after that. So i went further up the river, and set up to pull a point. As soon as i got the board in the water and set it went out of sight, A nice 30 inch striper came into the boat. The wind was picking up and I was having a hard time controlling the boat, so I went into a small cove and anchored. I set out 6 rods with small shad on for bait, While anchored I caught two channel cats, another 30 inch striper. After that I was on cloud nine, and just sitting there thing how blessed I was to be out fishing and having so much fun. Then it happened WHAM one of my polls doubled over and the drag was screaming. I grabbed the rod and the fight was on, after 4 good runs, I got the fish in the boat. My personal best a 35 inch striper. What a day, all fish caught and released, to fight again another day.

Wow! What a day? Did you go out yesterday? From a weather stand point, it looked like a good day to fish. Did your wife go with you also? If so, was she in on the action. Congrats on a great day?

Yes it was yesterday. And Jan had to work . If she would have been there I would have never gotten to the rod. The lady is very protective of her side of the boat, and any interference can get you thrown out of the boat . I called her, just to let her know that all the action came on her side, thinking that would make her feel better. Boy was I wrong on that one.
