Pretty much fished every square inch of poplar creek this morning. Was on the water at daylight, threw everything but the tackle box without even a hint of a bite. If there was any stripers there they didn't like what I was tossing.Nice morning though. Wasn't gonna go home skunked so tied on the ole CRAPPIE jig and hit a few spots, caught 8 small slabs. Called it a day before the Gail force winds hit.

Hi Hambone -
I haven't had much success on the upper BW recently - really since the water turned real brown/orange 2 weekends ago. Prior to that I was having some luck even further upriver. Didn't try that area this last trip.

Didn't try that area this last trip. Yeah that's the first time I've tried the stripes this year. I don't fish for them enough to keep up with where they are. I spend most of my fishing hours chasing slab CRAPPIE and buggs island blues
