Out last night looking for that spring-time nite bite. Fished from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Caught one striper 7.5 LB on a Spro 3/4 OZ bucktail (glo color) with a white split-tail trailer.
No big splashes near the rip-rap last night to give away the stripers. So I just kept moving from point to point. Caught the striper at third point out of four tried. Did not even try a surface plug last night due to the bright moon. Caught the striper in about 10 feet of water about 50 feet from the rip rap. Mostly following Bob King's advice as he writes in "Discover Smith Mountain Lake" magazine. His summer 2013 article is one of the best descriptions of night striper fishing I have found.
Conditions last night: water temp: 52 degrees winds: moderate moon: full sky: clear
