let my son in law borrow my boat as he went to the beach and when I went fishing here at the lake I lost my side scan....I looked everywhere on the hds 8 unit and cant seem to find it....I can get to everything else like gauges maps radar and all that but cant seem to locate the sidescan...any help would be appreciated....thanks lee

I'd need to have a unit in front of me to poke around with but in some of the setup.advance setup there are options for enabling various features and perhaps they messed with settings and turned that off?
However, I'd first check that a) the Ethernet cables are connected to the HDS unit (yellow cable) and to the SS box - and that the SS box has it's power LED on when tired up - perhaps something has knocked loose a cable or power cable or you have some corrosion.....

I'm sure you have tried. While at your home menu select the structure page. Third or so option is view. Select that and it should have left right and down. You should be able to select it there. If that isn't the case then it could be ethernet.

What's up Lee. Did you check the cables on the back side of your display?
Tried to call you the other day. Call me sometime. I need to stop up there soon.
