Started hunting bait Thursday afternoon. Found small bait pretty easily and fished for about an hour and half up around 4h camp in some water that was a little clearer than the main channel. The main channel was/is still orange above standiford and very stained below all the way to gills. Not even a sniff Thursday evening.
Friday morning we ran down lake to clean clear water. It's a long ride in my boat (top speed is about 21 with 3 men and a 35 gal tank). We had our first good numbers day since we started this pursuit. We caught 7 stripes and 1 LM. All fish absolutely hammered the bait. All were feisty and fat. Biggest fish was about 28". So no monsters but it was fun. We went back that afternoon and we couldn't get a sniff of a bite for three hours.
Made the call to come back home on Saturday.
