Today I represented the Smith Mountain Striper Club to receive the 2016 Natural Resource Conservationist Award from the Virginia Chapter of the American Fisheries Society. This award was in recognition for the Club's long time dedication to the conservation, preservation and education of the Striped Bass fishery at Smith Mountain Lake. Dan Wilson, Biologist with DGIF who we work closely with, nominated the Club and we were selected for this by the Chapter for this honor. This recognition is a testament to the efforts of the Club for many years - the efforts of many members. Thanks to all of them that have contributed to these efforts and I look forward to their ongoing support. This award is theirs.
