Had the pleasure of having a Gator on board today...sans cowboy hat. Gator showed up at dawn with egg-bacon biscuits. Hit the water by 7:15. Ran up river to supplement the sad assortment of small ales and peanuts I caught the night before. 50,000 throws later ( by Mike and my son Chris) we had 7 pure mongoes and went fishing. Water temps at 46, water dark brown to coffee, dragged banks for the day. Lots of nervous baits, a few good swirls, one 12 lber that was beautifull...full of light and silver. Wind picked up several times, sure didn't feel like mid 50's as expected..... We decided that for the 3/19 tourney we're going to the Roanoke. The Blackwater is as empty as the back of a high bucking bull *bleep* slapping an anchovie eating cowboy....no idea what that means....ask Gator..
