Air temp: From 39 up to about 50 Water temp: 44-45 Got a late start today and finally got on the water 10ish. It was the first trip of the year, so I was going completely blind.
Hit a nearby creek that has been good for bait in the past...Well, it was loaded. Bait everywhere in 30-35 feet of water. Only problem is I could not seem to catch any. It was ridiculous... Got a couple mongos and a few baby gizzards in 2 hours of throwing. Finally picked up a few 4 inch gizzards, but was struggling badly. Had another boat show up and load up on moneymakers in just a few throws. They ended up taking pity on us, and gave us several dozen baits. If you happen to read this, thanks a ton!!
I don't know what was going on. Threw every net I had in the boat...and couldn't do anything. Threw a 10' 5/8, and 10' 1/2, and a 12 foot mullet net that is an 1" I believe. The bait was 25 ft plus deep, and I've usually been able to at least pick up a few, but today was no good.
Thanks to the guys that hooked us up with some bait, we actually got to go pull for a few hours. Headed down the lake, but really didn't mark many fish. Pulled a section of shallow <5 ft water, and hooked up with a pair of 33"ers. Was an exciting few minutes, but we couldn't find any after that.
It was nice to at least get out and about today. I think I am going to give it a shot again tomorrow. You guys be safe out there.

Very nice report - glad to hear about the real shallow water. Looks like the shallows are starting to warm up a bit...the WT's I saw today were 42-44 in main channels and 45-46 up in the creeks.
