came up around lunch Friday to catch bait and fish. Was a little worried about water color. Turns out I was right to be worried. It was ORANGE. Loaded the boat and set out for bait. It was a struggle. We caught a couple mongos and a couple dollar bills. We found plenty of bait in spots but we are still working on getting the right net combo to catch bait in those situations. We pulled the main channel with out few baits for a few hours.
Put out the light. No luck whatsoever there. It was very muddy water at our dock.
Fished this morning. Ran way down to "three islands" area this morning to fish. Mongos got jumpy from time to time but no takers.
Water was pure orange/brown from B41 to Standiford area. WT ranged from 43 to 47.
Really looking forward to warm up in water temps.
Caught a GIANT crappie in the net. Biggest one I ever saw.
Will be back in two weeks. Hope it's really starting to jump then.

Water on the Blackwater is about as muddy as I can remember it in the 8 years we have lived over here.
