Hello.
I'm from Ohio and we are considering a vacation this summer at SML. Can anyone suggest a forum where I can get information on family activities, restaurant suggestions, and/or a comparison to Lake Cumberland or Dale Hollow Lake?

Welcome! I don't know of any non-fishing related SML forums - they may exist - I just don't know.
I've been known to eat a little bit though! I can help with the food piece.
My top 10 off the water SML restaurants in no particular order are: Smokehouse, Tuscan Tavern, Vinnys, Old Oak Cafe, Cancun Mexican, Joe's Pizza (used to be better than it is now), Mins China City buffet, Blackwater Cafe and grill (for special occasions - lil pricey), Bennys pizza and Bojangles breakfast. Probably a few others I'm forgetting that are worthwhile.
On the water you've got options at Bridgewater, Indian point, Mitchell's, Mariners, Bernard's, crazy horse, bay roc, Halesford Harbour, Va Dare, Yacht Club and probably others on Blackwater I'm forgetting. All with decent food, some better than others.
There's a fair amount of activities as well around the lake - enough to keep you busy. I have no idea on Cumberland or Dale Hollow comparison - not been on either.
