I know it is a little hard to think about chasing big fish right now with single digit temperatures on the way this weekend, but we are just 5 weeks from the 2nd half of the Striper Mafia Tournament Series - the March event is Saturday, March 19th. If you've not fished any of the events thus far, remember these are individual events with per-event payouts for the top 4 teams & lots of raffle prizes and also cash prizes for all teams that participate. The over-riding Team of the Year points competition is on-going, but since you can drop your lowest event, there is still a chance that you could place high, if not win, the Team of the Year award (a 50 gal X-treme Bait Systems bait tank). We had great participation in the Nov & Dec events when a lot of folks were in the woods... with Spring here I bet folks will be itching to get out and fish with a bit of fun competition. We have a limited # of measuring boards so it is important that you sign up ASAP - we may have to cut off registration when we reach the # of boards we have on hand..... Also, the 1st 10 teams to register receive a Striper Mafia Swag Bag for all the members of their team. Full details can be found at: www.SMLStriperMafia.com - and registration can be done on-line at: www.smlstripermafia.com/registration.htmlWe look forward to having you participate in another fun competition!

Looking forward to seeing the fish that are going to secure these plaques and the cash for the winning teams on Saturday! I know you'll value the Mward Hand Crafted with Love Plaques over the cash, but we'll give you the cash anyway Based on teams registered there will be over $2700 in cash prizes plus the Big Fish Pot - and $1300 in prizes to be raffled to all participants. Don't forget that the non-placing teams are eligible for the cash raffle which consists of 10% of the entry fees. Still a few slots available for those that have are on the fence.....

Some details on the March tournament to make sure everyone gets the info.... If you've preregistered you should have received an email last night with all the details on logistics and other.... along with a copy of the Rules & Release form and a FAQ document Rules & Release Form: www.smlstripermafia.com/uploads/1/3/4/2/13428842/striper_mafia_rules-110215.pdfFAQ document: www.smlstripermafia.com/uploads/1/3/4/2/13428842/stripermafia-mar-faq.pdfIf you've not registered yet and wish to fish, you may come register at the Captain's meeting assuming we have not exceeded the maximum of 50 boats. Right now we are just a hair under 40 registered. I strongly encourage you to pre-register at www.smlstripermafia.com/registration.html as it will speed up the check-in for us both at the Captain's Meeting. If you have pre-registered and something has some come that prevents you from fishing - sickness, mechanical issues with the boat, etc, and you won't be coming, PLEASE drop us an e-mail or a PM here to let us know so that we won't be waiting on you at the Captain's Meeting. We will hold a "floating" Captain's Meeting from 5:30p till 9pm on the patio at The Inn @ Halesford Harbour. You'll only need to be there for 10-15 min unless there is a long line. You'll submit your entry fee, release form, and pick up your token card and measuring board, we'll cover any questions and you'll be on your way. Right now we are planning to only have the Friday evening Captain's meeting - however, if there are some of you that cannot get there Friday evening Don't forget that we are collecting donations to go to the aid of those impacted by the recent tornados - we have a few Medium shirts remaining in short & long sleeve, and we'll accept any donations to add to the sales from the shirts already to contribute.

Also - to clarify - if you fished the Nov or Dec events, you still need to pre-register for the March (and/or Apr) events as well so that we know who is coming to these, and if your team has changed any, etc....

If you're still on the fence and have not registered, you can do so still via the web (www.SMLStriperMafia.com/registration) or at the Captain's Meeting - we'll be there tonight from 5:30 till about 9 (though if everyone registered has checked in, and we've not heard from anyone that they are coming and not registered, we'll may leave a little before 9).
We'll be on the patio at the Halesford Harbor Inn - next-door to Jakes Place in the back of Halesford Creek - the old Campers Paradise - on the Roanoke side just above the bridge.
We've got 40 teams signed up at the moment as long as no one else drops..... that's a good payout - $1500 to 1st, Big Fish could be as much as $1050, and 4 teams that don't place will win their entry fee back.... plus food & drink all the raffle prizes to be given out. That front moving tomorrow is is going to turn on the fish - I just know it - and pretty sure the rain is going to hold off till after we're done.... look forward to seeing you there!

^^ It is a big lake you guys will be alright.
Seems like everyone always fishes the Roanoke side for some reason.. The black water side probably won't have many boats at all...
