Drove to Moorman's this morning- had not seen the replies to my post yesterday. It was completely frozen over at 6:00 this morning. Headed for the public ramp near Hale's Ford bridge. To our dismay the parking lot and ramp had not been scraped. We were able to launch the boat- little dicey as the truck started to slide down the ramp. Found bait in Camper's but it was deep. (35 feet) Caught a few then headed upstream. Found some more small bait in another creek- 40 feet deep. We were not able to get far in Beaverdam at all- frozen over.
Finally started fishing at about 12:30. Caught one, and then the birds started working so we started casting flukes. The bite was on for about 30 minutes- had several double hookups and ended up bringing 10 fish to the boat. Tried some more bait fishing after that, but no more bites. Made it back to the ramp before it started to re-freeze. All-in-all a GREAT day !!
