Hi, I'm about 5 hours from the lake and hope to get tips for trips and contribute in the Salt and Other channels. Been there about 15 year ago as a teen and now have a family with 2 boys who also enjoy the outdoors. 12&13
I have a 14' john boat with trolling motor and new fish finder i got for christmas! Looking to get a 15hp this spring or I'll rent one.
Most of the lakes around Hampton Roads are way overfished and I'd love to find a nice spot on the lake for dock fishing panfish and launch. I probably won't be able to contribute much on SML fishing but I hope to find other in the Salt and Other Lake channels.
Planning a week trip to SML in the spring with the family. I looked around the forum for an hour for a related channel. First on my list is a rental property for a week in the 2k range.
Any references experiences or links would be appreciated.
Thanks Scot

SML is a great place to be with the family. You will have a blast. There are several people here that will be able to help you with a rental place and info about fishing. Do you fish the eastern shore and if so, what fish do you hunt for? Welcome to a group of great people. I've heard there are only a few fish on the blackwater side, so fish the Roanoke side. That's where you will see primetime.

Welcome!
Lots of options for you in the rental category in that price range. Most house rentals are on the Bedford county side (north side) - depending when in Spring you may want to focus around Craddock Creek
