Late posting this report - work and life keeps me too busy these days but I'll try to do better - being buried alive by snow helps me catch up.
I hit the water mid afternoon looking for birds as it began raining. Couldn't find any bird action after about an hour, so I deployed a few shad in Mwards creek as he said he was about 30min away from joining me. First pull, I had every rod getting swirled. Picked Mward up at the end of the pull, bouncing planers off rocks and docks and kept on going into the second pull of the same spot. We nailed one pretty quick and for some reason decided to pack it in and go bird chasing again for the last 30-45min of daylight. Found birds everywhere but didn't find the big schools around - mainly some singles and one small pod. We had a couple hits casting but no more fish for the evening. Not bad - beat working.
