Ran down to Hardy Thursday evening for a quick trip in the kayak. The wind was murderous at times and almost impossible to maintain boat postion in the kayak. Never marked much bait or fish and no birds were to be seen so I hit a few spots that have produced in the past casting an A-rig as the wind trolled me along. After 2 hours aithout so much as a sniff my arm was tired and my faith was shaken. I heaved 1 more cast as the sun was starting to head over the hills and began to crank it on in but still nothing so as as my arig neared the boat I mindlessly burned it back for another cast. Luckily I was looking at the water just as it came into view because a mid 20 incher was hard after it. Although he missed I knew the game was afoot so I paddled my way back up toward where I had originally cast from and chucked again, my mind set on retrieving and working this cast all the way to the boat. Halfway back I got slammed and initially thought I had a nicer fish on but it turned out to be a skinny 27". It was an awesome way to end a day beset by howling winds so I am glad I decided to make the trek, beats watching reruns anyway.

Nice fish, wind and kayaks don't mix. I've gotten where if there is going to be wind I don't even go. Nice kayak, I really like those predators.

How do you guys catch a striper without it pulling you all over the lake. I would love to see a video of someone in a kayak catching a striper.
