Love the warmer temps that kept the big shad bite going!!!!! Now the cold is jhere to stay.
Trip 1 -- Saturday // Sunday // Monday -- Had gator on the boat for Saturday -- great day with a new friend --- put 5 fish in the boat -- Gatror put a beautiful 14.5 lber in the boat But unfortunately a day later helping Yam at 330 in the morning my phone fell in the lake and the evidence of the fish is gone forever.
Sunday and Monday -- father son dou came to the lake to fish -- Sunday was 75 degrees -- caught 6 fish for the day -- the biggest being this 18.5lber first fish of the day. I am helping because my baseball boy was having a hard time getting it into position for the shot. arms were tired after a 8 minute fight -- great fish!!!
Nice pic of Father son down at the Tressles
Monday -- 48 degrees // downpours //drizzle // gusting up to 25 to 30 --- stopped at our honey hole Put three 30 to 32 inch fish in the boat first thing -- Next stop try to find a spot out of the wind -- headed up lake - I look back at an area I have never fished and it looked good No wind -- throttled back and turned around. set up 2 mongos on one side -- a few good swirls, looking good then all is quiet -- this pull is 5o yards long on each side with a aggressive U-turn because of dead end to get to other side. As I make the turn I put the back board rod in my hand to control the board better and POW!!! the amount of water that this fish moved was MONSTROUS!!! -- this is why I love big bait fishing!!! I look at dad and he says you have the rod ( I had not caught a fish in 2 days- this trip was for them to catch) 10 minutes later a beautiful 22lber -- 38 to 39 inch fatty -- I guess I was rewarded for trying something new -- or maybe the conditions steered me to try this place, fish gods were talking to me.
We also caught this nice 6lber who slammed a mongo and got stung.
The Downs -- Second trip - Tuesday // Wednesday -- bearings blow on trailer tire, luckily made it safe to hotel with out knowing this had happened -- put boat in water and tire all most falls off -- Needs new axel and boat is currently sitting in the water at Smith --
Bait is down deep now and have to earn every piece you put in the tank
nice pic of fish on the sonar
Saturday // Sunday trip --- bait still down deep but did find a couple of 13+ size gizzz
Nice fish in the net from the lynville creek 1 of 3 put in the boat -- all released
Big fish of the day is this nice 35.5 -- 18.5lber
Looks like the cold is here to stay -- See you all out on the water
