Glad you got her up and running. You got her setup right for stripers and cats. Thanks man!!! Sure has been a process. I liked my other boat a lot, but at only 16' it was too small. Plus it was aluminum and beat the heck out of ya on a choppy day. Had to put those trim tabs on the back to get 'er planing out easily with 60 gallons of fuel and a 40 gallon bait tank in the back!!

That is a sweet setup for striper fishing. Much more room with a bait tank than some bigger center consoles.

I like the full windshield and the deep hull, because tackling the bay is no chore for this rig. I teetered back and forth from CC to DC, then finally decided on the DC. It had a back to back on the passenger side. I pulled it out and mounted a pedestal base so I can mount another captains chair there. One of the features that I really appreciate is the 20 gallon livewell that is in the floor just behind the bait tank. That is my sorting tank. Just open the floor flap up, and dump the bait in to let it cure, then move it up to the bait tank. I also throw the net off of the platform in the back and just swing the bait right on in. You can see the flap back here: Then when I install the snap down vinyl seats up front and flip the seats up in the rear of the boat I have seating for 6-7 people. Great family boat also.

PeteD nice looking boat. Looks a whole lot like mine. How did you mount the trolling motor up front? Just bought one for mine. Hopefully it is long enough.

Wellllllll, that took a bit of innovation............ This is how it used to look up front: But I cut the front section of the bow rail out with a copper tubing cutter, and put end caps on the ends. Then I built a custom trolling motor mount out of polyethylene plastic (cutting board material) and mounted the motor to that. Works really well actually. Took quite a bit of time........... You can kinda see it here: But if you pause this video you can see it in the beginning of it:

What trolling motor did you get? Remote steer? I had a 55" shaft that worked pretty well, but this one is a 60". It will NOT cavitate, even in the heaviest chop that I have seen on my lake. 24-36V is a MUST!!

I got a motorguide brute 756. It is a 42" so it may not work. Got a decent deal on it so hopefully I can get my money back out of it if it doesn't work.
