That's a good idea 180. I use to fly fish regular and fished larger deep pools in a river. There was very little room to back cast with a fly rod.

A roll cast was about all you could manage. I really had good luck on weighted nymphs when I could get it to the trout. This would solve that

problem on a spinning rod without spooking the fish in ultra clear water .
