I basically have 2 fishing tales to share from the past week. 11/21 & 11/22I had my 9 year old nephew and my dad in town from Dallas. We arrived late Friday and we were able to catch a few small baits around the dock and went fishing Saturday morning and while we didn't tear them up we were able to get my nephew on his first striper ever. He had a blast and was super excited about it. The rest of the day was spent trying to hunt down big bait but. Never found the mongos, but we found plenty of 4-5"gizzards in 12-15 foot of water in the mouths of some shallow flats. We had some more luck the next day and put 3 more fish in the boat the largest being a 27" fish late Sunday evening on a planer in about 5 foot of water way up in a creek. 11/25, 11/26 and 11/27The fish disappeared from my area on the Blackwater completely. I spent 6-8 hours on the water each day searching for bait and fish and couldn't find either. Amazing how 2 days later the fishing completely changed and baitfish weren't where they were and couldn't be found and neither were the stripers. I noticed the lake level fluctuated dropped quite a bit over the 2 days I was away. Not sure if this has a predictable effect on the fish or not. Very frustrating to not be able to locate anything and bring home skunks on back to back to back days. Thats what makes it interesting i guess!!

Was tough for sure. Especially big bait. I found plenty of small ones but the big bait was DEEP. Got lucky and caught 5 Saturday, on the BW.
