I've been fishing a fair amount, but I don't like to post too many reports this time of year..just because I'm selfish and don't want people all over top of me. I netted some shad Thursday evening and it was stupid how easy it was. I caught about 100 relatively easy for my shed tank and left 40 in my boat tank overnight for the trip Friday. We got out a little late Friday morning but were fishing probably by around 845-9am. Didn't take too long to get a few fish in the boat and we had a decent morning of 5-6 fish in the boat. Grabbed some lunch and netted about a dozen more shad in a few throws and we were back fishing again. We smoked em pretty good in the afternoon and quit fishing with two shad left in the tank. The fish didn't mess around this day..no blowups like they have been..just bending rods and disappearing planers. There was a few doubles and triples to go around. Nothing huge 10-14lb fish mainly give or take. Freelined moneymaker gizzards were the ticket. We packed it in about 430 with my trolling motor batteries dead as a doornail but not before netting another 15-20 big gizzards real quick to take home for later!
