With Captain's Quarters closed does anyone know if there is any place to buy swamp monkeys in the area? Would Sportsman's Warehouse have them? Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Just make your own. Not to take anything away from Swamp Monkeys, but this type of lure was used widely on the Potomac River in the early 90's.
An article appeared in Gene Mueller's fishing report and I bought the components to make the lure. If I can find the article , I will post it.

Take it from someone who has made their own jigs, from maribou for crappie to big ones similar to the swamp monkey. Once you buy all the crap to make them with, the pots to melt the lead, the dies to cast the lead and hooks and eyes and paint and glitter and feathers and thread and glue and hardening coatings and whatever else, you're paying 10-15 dollars for a big jig. Not to mention the trial and errors you make attempting all this stuff, and the stink involved (which my better half still reminds me of). Call VTSuperfluke and beg him to sell you some, I know how difficult it is to make them on your own and it simply is not worth it. Seriously. Been there, done that, got the damned Tshirt. Buy em. No offense meant lund, just my 2 cents worth.
