I really enjoyed reading Yam's short list of Travisism's....simple, solid quotes that make you stop and think, smile and become a better fisherman/man. Thought it might be fun to capture a few more pearls on a thread. I'll start with 2 equally wise but completely conflicting bits of advice. I think of them both every time I'm on the water;
" be greedy with your scouting".....Todd K.
" stop driving around and start fishing!"..... Gator

From Bentrod via Todd.
If you see a spot and think there are certainly no fish there, that will be where your biggest fish will come from.

"If you want to catch fish you gotta go where the fish are"
"Can't catch 'em on the couch"
"Shut up and fish you big *&^%$"
Just a few I would hear from my Dad.....can't share a few of them.

My mentor Anthony.
Yam to Anthony: Dude everytime I hit this spot, I catch a 36" + fish.
Anthony to Yam: Then go somewhere else, you already figured that spot out!

From the older guy that really filled in some of the missing pieces of the puzzle on baitfishing for me. "When fishing is tough always keep a lively bait on"

From my dad about fishing and hunting "Just be glad you can go, if you get something that's just like icing on the cake."

Here's one from my Dad. It's not really fishing related but I never forgot it. He told me one time "Son by the time your big enough to take on the old man, you'll have enough sense not to try it". I sure miss him.

Here's one from the last week or two...I read it and followed it last time I was on the lake and did pretty good that day....paraphrasing; " why is everybody talking about creeks all the time?...creek this and creek that....there's a lot of fish in the channels!" - Bigun.
