I took a staff member with me who had never caught a big fish.
We set out about 2pm to catch bait. we hunted for a couple hours without any in the net. Thankfully i had a few dollar size gizzards and some peanuts from this past Sat, and from the tournament in my newly built bait cage.
4pm we decided to start fishing before it became dark.

We had just finished setting out 3 boards on the starboard side and the outside board went under. I picked it up and handed the pole to Emily. She did not know what to do. It seemed like I was hollering at her at what to do. Keep the pole up! Reel! After all the action, she had a 32 inch in the boat with an apology for all the hollering.
About 20 minutes later the middle board went down. I pulled it in and there was a HUGE green fish on. It had to have been 6lbs, i know it sounds unrealistic, but thats my guess because it never made it in the boat. The green fish went after one of the peanuts.
Time was running out so we picked up and stopped at one last place before parking at the dock. We set 2 boards out on the starboard side with dollar bills. The outside board was getting hit rite after it was deployed. Shortly after, the inside was getting smacked around. About a 100 yards later, the outside board went down and Emily yanked the pole up. Shortly after her yank, she had a 35 in onboard without any help from me other than netting it, and no hollering. 2 big fish in a hour in a half. Now thats fun!! Both released to grow some more!
The bait cage worked! Oh, the first fish was caught on a rednosed dollar.
