i fished the james river at buchanan today. boated 12 smallies and broke off a musky around 40 in.all on tubes. water temp 52. no big smallies . had a few 13-14 in. oh yeah, watched and listened to a few eagles also, and seen a black bear while on the water. not every day i get to watch eagles and bears!!!

We use to float the section below Eagle Rock camp ground and take out at Springwood. That was back in the early 70's. You could always see deer and turkeys early in the morning. That is a beautiful area.

i would have loved to have been there while the leaves were full of color . it is a beautiful place.

Here are two pictures of the river. Since we usually went in the spring, you had to watch the weather report to determine when the river was not at high water. We caught a lot of bass but only one muskie that was about 20 inches IIRC. The biggest fish was a carp caught on a white beetle spin.
