Started out the day with a tank full of big gizzards that primetime and I had caught on Friday night. weather was cool and rainy WT 64. Started pulling bait at about 6:30 and it was on as soon as we started. I couldn't keep a spread out for catching fish. we landed 5 super early the biggest going 31 inches. After a couple of hours things started to slow down some. Made a couple of moves, looked at a couple of creeks but the leaves were so bad that we couldn't fish them. Got on some again about lunch time ended up catching 8 total, missed several and had 3 get loose on the way in. all in all a great day. Finished 8th in the tournament which I was proud of being that was the first striper tourny we have ever fished. Matthew placed 2nd in the youth division, he was very happy. Then I won a $100 Tim Wade cast net gift certificate at the check in, That was awesome. Thanks to all the Striper Mafia crew for putting on a great tournament. We are already looking forward to the next one! Also it was great meeting a bunch of the forum members I really enjoyed getting to talk to some of you guys.

There ya go... nice report Jason. And you didn't mention the Friday evening hassle with spinning the prop - glad you were able to get the prop sorted out so you guys could get out and fish on Saturday! Glad Matt placed in the Youth division - was rooting for you guys as you've had your string of bad luck here recently - glad you had a good day of catching too!

It's going to be cut-throat in the Youth division in December - I can tell it already

It's going to be cut-throat in the Youth division in December - I can tell it already I chuckle every time I look at the photo of Matt getting his trophy. It looks like it was about to be cut-throat right then.

I do need to give a very special Thank You to Joel for going out of his way to let me use some parts from his spare prop for the tournament. As Mward mentioned I hit a log on Friday night and spun my prop. Primetime and I had to use the trolling motor to get back to Grimes from the tennis courts. That took a while.

There were 3 generations in your boat. Your dad must be proud. If I can add to the report. Trolling back after hitting the log Jason decided he was going to make the most out a bad situation. First off he never seemed upset about the prop. He opened up one of his many compartments and pulled out this thing that looked like a Christmas tree. He said it was an umbrella rig. He through it out and started to fish. Unfortunately the lake wanted it more than a fish. You never give up. Thanks for taking me along. I am learning a lot and having fun.
