10/29/15
As I passed a fisherman he asked, "You having any luck?"
I told him I had a fish just jerk the pole out of my hand.
He said, "Awww man..that really sucks!"
I then replied, "Not really, because I went back to where my planer board was still floating and was able to get my pole back by pulling up my line." I then told him that I caught that damn fish too!
He then simply said, "That there's a good fishn story buddy!"

That's a big plus one for the planer boards that don't release the line. That board paid for itself and needs to be retired and hung on the wall with a picture of the fish.

Haha. Without the video, it would be hard to believe. That's got to be up there with one of your best stories!

Anyone notice Yam's 1st instinct when the rod comes out of his hand is to turn and check to make sure the GoPro was on

Anyone notice Yam's 1st instinct when the rod comes out of his hand is to turn and check to make sure the GoPro was on Actually, I was turning to see where I was going. My display does not work on my gopro, thus you have to get real close to see if it is on. I simply try to keep it on all the time and just forget about it as much as possible. My real intent of the GoPro was to have an automated "camera man" so that I could get fish back in the water quicker. Then it became a great data collection agent. Now I find it useful for process improvements. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would use it to entertain a bunch of fellow fishermen. It actually is a real pain in the ass most of the time, especially on the water and when I have to sift through all the footage. But I do get a big jolt out of watching myself get better at throwing the net and when folks are entertained or learn something useful.

Man , you sure got lucky there ! I'm sure it was quite satisfying to land the rod and reel as well as the fish.
