Went out with an old friend, 2013skiff (Lee), so that he could show me the proper way to fish the fall stripers. Started out before light, light rain and anxious. There wasn't much bait activity at Bay Rock so we went toward the first trussel. Meet up with a board member, hokiechad, I think he said, and he told us that he had just caught some biguns at yhe first yrussel. We managed to catch one bigone ther. Found two more across from the big trussel and lots of small ones. Started pulling plannners actoss from Mormans. Within five minutes, had a striper crush a bigun and follow it. It did pull it down after about ten seconds with out getting hooked up. Killed our first big bait. Set out our second big bait and got a hook up within 15 minutes. Lee caught a beautiful 38(?)", 18(?)Lber. No tape measure or scale. Will try to load pic. Sent out the last bigun and had another crusher, no hookup. Mind you, we were pulling three other boards ond ro floats all with peanuts. Not one hit on anything other than the big shad. Did catch a small large mouth towards the end. Proved to me that big shad is a must. Lee pointed out a couple other members, did not get to greet any though. I enjoy reading y'alls posts and looking at the pics. I drive a small white Glastron. Again, will try to post pictures.
