Pulled planer boards with 1/4 oz weight and roughly 12 feet behind and light lines out the back of the boat in the back of Bull run. It seemed like we just stayed on catfish most of the day with an occasional LM bass. For bait we had some good size ales but no gizzards. Like it has been stated they are tons of peanuts but we were unable to locate even a few dollar bills.

smlfishing - did you look in the VERY backs of Bulls Run in the little cove pockets back there - I'd think there would some hanging in there or up along some docks. Might gave to run up the Blackwater to some other creeks to find them then bring them back and fish them....

I have tried different weights over the past few weeks and haven't had any luck whatsoever. The only thing that worked for me was no weight at all. There are fish on the banks as well if you enjoy the challenge of bopping around obstacles.

We caught several fish on Saturday using a 3/8 oz light-line behind a planer about 20-25' feet behind the board. Used it on the "deep side" of the boat as we pulled free-lines along the bank.

We went all the way in the back at the ski course and heard of some having some luck pulling on the side with the fields as far as gizzards we could find them flipping but everything was small. I did see some others throwing as well and they did not appear to get any quality bait as you could see them going on down. So we just decided to us the ales. I just fish with my son 15 and daughter 13 and there was some boats back there but we never saw anyone catch anything. Should of pulled up and went to scout another location but putting out the boards is quite a ordeal and my son has a new shimano core that he will not leave the brakes on so we spend a good bit untangling that birds nest good thing I put tape on it or we would be refilling it. I will add some more line behind my boards and vary some with no weight. We did not catch anything on our free lines which we ran at 35 and 40 feet back.
