WT - 62-65
wind - 5-10mph
3 light planers
2 downroads with 3/4 oz egg sinkers at 15-20 ft
We pulled about .7 mph
My first mate and I took off from grimes creek to go catch bait about 10:30am. We first filled the bait tank with our newly designed 2000 gph pump and pool hose with delphi connectors. I learned about this from a post Mike put up. It works great. The pool hose is awesome, it seems like the water just falls off it without me getting drenched. Thank you very much for showing me how to make this pump! I had my Tim Wade net to catch dollar bills. I threw the net the shrimpers method in grimes creek. Please know Im real new at trying to catch these slimy things. My first mate is controlling the TM and I have this net draped over me. I just keep remembering a post from the forum about checking in the back of creeks and Jason telling me to throw around the docks, and Yam saying to look for flips. Nothing. I threw on some flips, and one small one got hung up in my net which i thought was an alewife, because it was so small. After throwing in grimes without any luck, I decided to go to the back of beaver dam creek. There were flips everywhere! I needed bait if we were going to fish. I got out my 3/8 in net and caught what I thought was small alewife. Jason called and asked how I was doing. He let me know I caught what is called peanuts! Im learning!
At 2:30 pm we started fishing the long stretch in beaver dam creek to the mouth of the creek.
Afterwards, we pulled everything in and headed down river to 50a.
We fished from 50a to grimes creek without a hit all day and didn't see any fish break water.
We headed to storage about 6pm
We enjoyed getting out, the fish just didn't find us. HaHa
My daughter is home schooled so this was her first field trip.
