Didnt get out till around 1pm today, wind was rough in the pontoon but installing the 101 thrust trolling motor was best decision ive ever made. Bait was tough at first for me to locate but after hitting a honey hole 3 throws and had about 3 doz nice big gizzards it was time to fish. Ran 2 down lines 2 free line boards and 2 floats. Had 4 big strikes but no takers then right at about 645 had a down line hit and landed the first striper off boat since i got it. Only a 8 pounder but if you would have been on boat and seen my face you would have thought that it was 30 pounds. Nice to get the first one out of the way. Trolled until 9pm had a couple more strikes but just tail bites. Cant wait to hit it again tomorrow.

Way to stay with it. I would have felt the same way you did catching that fish. Were you on the blackwater side or Roanoke side. Thanks for the report.
