It was mentioned over in another thread, but I wanted to make sure we highlighted this aspect of the tournament for everyone...
In addition to the Team-based competition, we will have an overlaid youth competition - Youth will be defined as this children fishing with a team that are age 15 and under. Each youth will be able to submit one picture for their submission into the competition. In order to remove potential issues for the adults knocking the kid overboard for the rod
, the youth is a part of the overall team - and his/her submission may also be one of the two fish pictures submitted by the team - after all, this is a team competition and perhaps it matters less who reels it in as who picked the "perfect" bait, or to sees the board being hit or who sets the hook or even who nets the fish. Just do us a favor (and more importantly, the kids) - make sure the child is involved in the overall process and is a part of the team throughout the day.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, we will be awarding the 1st place youth in each event with a really nice spinning setup - a Shimano Sienna 4000 series mounted on an Ugly Stik GX2 6' 6" MH rod - a perfect setup for the Youth winners to catch many future trophy stripers with! The 1st thought 3rd youth will also receive a trophy, and all other youth participating in the events will receive a Striper Mafia medal for their involvement.
When registering, please make sure to indicate the youth member(s) on your team, along with the age category.
