I got skunked Sat. morn. I came up Friday night and thought I would go out Sat. morning for a few hours. My wife decided she wanted to go out with me so I head down to get bait. I turned my light on and was told by a buddy that bait was hard to get. Last week was no trouble, but sure enough I started throwing a couple of hours later and it was sparse. I got enough ales to go out so I headed to bed. We pulled out of the slip at 6:30am and headed up the lake to a place below the S curves. We did catch one 8-10 cat that came off as I was getting to net it. We pulled for quite a while and mom was getting hungry so as we came over a bunch of trees in the mouth of a cove, I slowed the boat to a clawl and a deep running planer fired off. I knew it was a fish and not hung up because I saw it hit and the planer went in reverse to quick to be in a tree. My wife grabbed the pole and I could see it was a good fish. After a half a minute, she said "it's not fighting any more". I knew we were in a tree for sure. We tried out best to get that fish out of the tree, but no luck. After we broke off, I looked around to see all the lines all mixed up. So I got things cleaned up, tucked my tail between my legs and headed back to the dock with a smelly boat. Fishing but not catching.

I felt like I was going to have a stinky boat too on Saturday. Got lucky and ran into a fairly decent school that salvaged the day. Thanks for the report
