Man the weather was sweet this morning. Sunny with a light breeze. Air temp on my truck showed 58-61 on my way and 72 when I left. Water temp was 79.5 and clear.
Most of the fish I marked seemed to be near or on the bottom. My first fish was a sub 20" which I torpedoed without delay. The next one was a 24" which wins a ride home.
While trying to let the u rig back out my reel crapped out on me. I need to take it apart to check it out. So with so many fish on the bottom I grabbed a jigging rod with
Fluke tied on. Marking some fish at 63' of water I then jigged / dead stick about in 30 second intervals. Had a nice thump, set up and fish on. Done for the day.
Weather was so nice I just drove around for a little while taking it in.

Thanks Prime. I forgot to mention, I could smell fresh cut hay while fishing. Not many smells are any better than that.

I took that reel apart on the line counter side . Dang parts laying everywhere. Managed to get them all back though. A screw had came out of the yoke keeper. My hands sure do shake with those small parts. Think I need a drink.

Awesome report! Getting excited for yet another fantastic Fall!
All the senses surely get awakened in the Fall. I like the smell of a campfire burning. The sight of the birds swarming. The feel of the crisp morning air. The sound of a turkey calling and the taste of an ice cold NOS right before another throw of the net!
Hell yes!
