While coming home from the CBBT, I noticed a lot of brake dust and grease on one of my trailer wheels. When I got home, I found that both of my caliper pins were gone and the caliper was being held by a combination of the brake pads, rotor and wheel. It was just hanging on and was obviously banging around. I also found that the grease inside this bearing was basically liquid. Believe it or not, the caliper seems fine, and after repacking the bearing, it seems fine as well. I'm not sure if the caliper was the issue or maybe an unbalanced tire. This particular wheel has always seemed greasier than the rest. Maybe this caliper was always banging around?
Regardless, I ordered new pins and plan to test the tire balance. This time I will use Loctite on the threads.
Anyone seen this or have any ideas?

Sorry you are having troubles Yam. At least you got home safely. I would also pull the rotor off and take it to a garage that has a brake lathe too check it for being warped. Before you reinstall the rotor take a file or rough sand paper to the pads to take any crystallization off. Also check the inside of the wheel to make sure the loose caliper did not cut a groove in your wheel. Unless the caliper was somewhat loose to begin with I doubt an out of balance tire would cause it. Just my thoughts , good luck..

And more importantly - where are the pics of the cobia!
Glad you didn't end up stranded along the side of the road. A spare set of caliper pins would not have been in my mind for a roadside repair kit.

We could not keep the sharks away. We must have caught 30 or more. They put up a great fight, but for whatever reason, are disappointing and wear down your spirit.
We did run into some Cawwww. Ended up being small blues.
Fun... Nonetheless.

I have never fished for cobia in VA. We always looked for big rays in FL and usually had good luck around them. Cobia do look like a small shark in the water though.

I'm going spadefishing next summer.... with a side of Cobia.... Are these commonly sought after fish? We had them in FL and NEVER targeted them. Although I have shot some fairly large ones while spearfishing and they eat good. We would see huge schools of them on reefs and wrecks.

I've just heard that there are a blast to catch down at the Bay, especially around the bridge pilings on SBBT. I know Travis goes after them, as does Capt. Todd (ShadTaxi). Travis' moob's and a spadefish....
