I thought about dumping bait from yesterday's trip but opted for keeping half and do a water change. I wasn't really committed and did not set an alarm. I woke up a couple times before 6:30 and each time was thinking about going fishing. I finally got out of bed at 7 am and told my wife I would just be gone for an hour or two.
After backing out of my slip and while I was adjusting things on the console and with one eye on the sonar noticed I was marking a fair number of fish in my cove. What the heck, I thought I would give it a shot. For the next two hours I made a loop to the main channel and back to the house. I caught nine stripers altogether. Eight that were 20-24 inches, one that was 31 inches inches and two small channel cats. I had two sets of doubles that I got to the boat, one that seemed to tangle with every line I had out. Back home by 9:15. Spent the rest of the morning retying everything.

That's a great report.! It's nice when you don't have to go far to get on fish. And sometimes fishing solo can be nice , especially when you have a morning like that. I can hear your wife now " See honey , I told you that you don't have to go all over the lake to catch fish, they are right here in our cove " LOL !
