Put in yesterday morning at 7am at the oak grove ramp and headed the short distance to beckys, no fish were caught and only had one decent strike. Trolled all around the creek and some through the main channel before the traffic REALL picked up. I starte to head down toward the Roanoke side but between the traffic and the heat and humidity I just called it a morning. I haven't got a bait tank just yet so I've been using the large - jumbo minnows, and have caught a few fish in the past few weeks. Been free lining and using down lines. Also, this morning the one strike I had was on a light line I decided to try. Didn't find any good size schools, did mark a few good size bait balls at around 15 - 20 ft. Hope to get out early in the morning also with a little better luck. Water temps were at 83 yesterday and 82 this morning in the creeks. I would like to try pulling some artificial early tomorrow morning if I can get my butt up early enough, and possibly try up around and past the s curves. Yall have a good one and happy Saturday.
