Haven't been out much lately went one time couple weeks back out of Scruggs with a big ole skunk so kinda thought the excitement was over this eve about 8 I decided I was gonna hit the lake told my better half don't even know why I'm going was my words went with all intentions of pulling around a big worm Carolina style paddled out to some known ledges and humps in beaver fished two of them and nothing then started hearing some shad flicker on a long riprap bank I couldn't help but grab my rod with the thunderstick tied on with my double uni knot leader (thx big d ) I def have faith in its strength now .ended up landing these two had 6 blow ups lost 3 fish one right after I landed the smallie and it was striping line thought it was my drag but it was slipping my braid back to using electrical tape on spool cost me a nice fish not doing so .and plus it's my biggest small mouth ever and prob the most intense fight I've ever had .

I like the double Uni-knot for braid to Fluor as well.

Thx mike , def love the knot now and have confidence in it and is so much more accurate than using a swivel when casting .

Adding some mono or floor backing will prevent line slipping as well. I keep about 50-75 ft of old line on when i respool cuts down on the amount of new line you put on saving $

Switched back to some 3m type of black tape my dad use to use its pretty much a rubber strip once cut seems to be working so far hopefully I can hook into something that will test it this weekend on the new
