Hello folks. First post here and looking for a little advice. Ive actually talked to Pete d before. He hooked me up with a lss2 transducer and box at a great price. Ive just started targeting stripers. We have fished for jumbo cats in the James bream at briery and everything in between but just started with stripers . I have a 2180 dlx Carolina skiff rigged with a lowrance hds 12 gen 2. Trying to get good arches on 2d and its been tough. Just not sure on which settings are good basics. Hoping to get decent marks at 15 to 20mph. So any help would be appreciated. We fish at buggs mostly. Thanks

A fish mark at 20 mph will be a vertical line with color. If the vertical line is really tall, then you have a school of bait. You will either need to slow down to get archs or you might be able to get funky archs if you speed up your screen.
It takes lots of practice to get good at interpreting sonar at higher speeds. I am still learning myself.
In terms of settings, pick your favorite pallette at low speeds then turn off auto sensitivity and find the perfect setting at your chosen speed which shows fish and minimal interference. I also like the vertical flasher as well.
There is no such thing as generalized, perfect settings. Once you know what each setting means, you determine what perfect is for you.

A lot of fishermen are using nothing but the old flasher to locate fish at speed. I noticed many Saltwater folks are using them alot. The flasher simply sends a constant ping out, you easily obtain depth, and anything in between is fish. Stripers will show up as a much more solid return than bait and smaller fish. I think after trying for years to get my 200hz sonar to find fish at speed that the flasher is way easier. You do not have to mess with all kinds of settings either.

Thanks for the responses. Ive seen those flashers being used often as well. Wonder if the flasher on the new units would work.

Yes tried it in May running at 35knts and marked fish. Slowed down went by over the spot and the sonar and ds both showed stripers. It takes a bit of trial and error but it works.
