I'm coming up with some buddies for the holiday weekend. We've been doing this for several years and have had a great time although we've never really caught much. We each got 1 largemouth last year.
We're staying near R26. Should we keep doing the same ol thing (fishing from there to around the bridge) or go down towards the dam? Thanks!

Fish during the day, the fish stay away. Fish at night, enjoy the bite. This weekend will be a mess during the day, be careful.

Lake normally calms down around 630pm or so talked to the folks at a few marinas and they told me that all boat rentals have to be in by 6pm. I fished Avalon Marina and Yacht Club caught 4 LM all keepers

Thanks everyone. Good advice. I go to SML all the time (my parents' house), but I've never had much luck fishing when my buddies come in. I just want to show them a good time and hook a few bass. We'll head out in the early AM and after 6:30PM and hit the docks on the way up to the Hales Ford Bridge.
