I finally got back out for some striper fishing. Karen and I spent 6/10/15 thru 6/12/15 striper fishing at Raystown PA. The air temps were running 70s in the morning to upper 80s and low 90s in the afternoon. Surface water temps I think were mid 70s but my temp gauge decided to quit working so my info comes from other folks I talked to. We pulled u-rigs on main lake points and humps on Wednesday with no bites. That night we put out the green light and 2 hrs later I had 30 5" alwife and a sore back but figured we would catch some stripers in the morning. Thursday morning we set up on the same area we marked fish on the night before with a planer board out each side, a light line out the back with a down line up front. About mid morning we had a planer board go down but no striper. We ended up with a 3 lb lake trout. . We just couldn't find the fish like the evening before, so about 10am we put the bait away and hooked up the u-rigs again to cover some water. Never found the fish but while we were having lunch at the local Hosses steak house a fellow fisherman turned me on to another area to check. That evening we found some scattered fish where he said they'd be but still no takers. It seemed like we found fish but none actively feeding. OK, one more try Friday morning before the weekend mad house arrives. On the way to our spot we found this floating in the main channel so we took time to move it to a small cove out of the way. . I'm glad I didn't hit that the night before. When we got to our spot we put out our baits, scooted around till 10 am then loaded up and came home. No stripers.
